Allow your body to become relaxed and at ease.
Image you are lying on the beach of a peaceful tropical island. You are completely safe, relaxed and at ease.
As you exhale, your body settles into the earth, becoming more grounded. Feel the sun’s light warm you, feel the wind gently blow over your skin, smell the salt water in the air. You are relaxed and at ease.
As you inhale, begin to feel lighter, as if you were lifting up and out of your physical body, up into the clouds. Your physical body is completely safe and secure, for now, just feel as if you were one with the clouds, looking down at yourself calmly, serenely resting on the shore. Feel a deep sense of contentment.
As you exhale feel your cloud self pulling out over the water. Look back at the shoreline. Each inhalation brings you a deeper sense of calm. As you exhale, feel as if the wind is blowing you, bringing you over a deep, dark ocean, with no land around in any direction. Perhaps you look down at a boat or sea life. Perhaps the ocean is choppy, or maybe it is smooth sailing. It does not matter to you. As a cloud you are not attached to these happenings.
As you exhale again, you may smell green and hear the sounds of a tropical rain forest; you may be providing cover for children playing in a stream; you may drift over your childhood home, peaceful farmhouses and bustling cities with exotic sights, sounds and smells. You may drift over the desert and see nomads roaming and even over warring regions. But you remain unattached to everything going on. It does not concern you. You are a cloud. As you exhale you drift on from region to region. Roam freely, sending positive thoughts and well wishes down to all you cover.
Ultimately you notice yourself over familiar surroundings. You notice a person lying peacefully on a beach. You recognize it as your own physical body. Over the next several exhalations, you feel yourself reconnecting, yet still retaining the lessons of detachment that you encountered as your cloud self.
As you start to create gentle movement in your body, take ownership of continuing to think fondly of those whom you provided cover. Continue to send out good, without regard to whomever is the recipient of your well wishes, knowing full well that what you are putting out into the atmosphere will come back to you, good, bad or indifferent.
